Scattering a smattering of poems throughout, this work is not a monotone tale of some poser who thinks he is somebody, no, rather, this is a book of truth. The writing began as a note to my children, a record of how I became who I am and what happened behind the scenes during their lifetime.

I first met Roger when I was just 15, racing mountain bikes in West Virginia. At that time, I had no idea the battles he had already faced in life.
